Welcome to NILE!

Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE) has worked with hundreds of professionals at institutions across Uzbekistan, both online and face to face. 


NILE is a world-leading centre of excellence in professional development for language educators. 

Since 1995, we have trained over 70,000 English teachers globally and have provided training programmes, ELT project management and consultancy for institutions and ministries worldwide.

We provide a range of professional development courses open to all teachers: online and blended at various times of year, and face to face in Norwich during July & August. We also deliver tailor-made courses for groups throughout the year, drawing on the specific training requirements of the institution. 

We offer Cambridge CELTA courses for trainee teachers, and Cambridge DELTA and the MA in Professional Development for Language Education (MAPDLE) for experienced teachers.

Uzbek teachers at NILE

NILE is delighted to work with universities, colleges and state departments across Uzbekistan, including Uzbek State World Languages University, Kimyo International University in Tashkent and Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, to name but three of more than twenty institutions. 

We deliver an array of courses, written and tutored by expert trainers such as Rod Bolitho, Maria Heron, Jason Skeet and Thom Kiddle; courses such as Cambridge CELTA, Testing, Evaluation and Assessment, Teaching English for Specific Academic Purposes, Advanced Language, Materials and Methodology and many more.

NILE provides:

  • Teacher development courses in Norwich 
    NILE offers a wide range of teacher development courses in July and August, and tailor-made courses for groups throughout the year. Participants have access to NILE's extensive ELT library and resources. Accommodation can be provided.
  • Teacher development online courses with NILE Online 
    NILE provides a wide range of 6- or 8-week teacher development courses online in January, April and September.
  • Cambridge CELTA in Norwich
    NILE runs 4-week intensive teacher training courses in March, August and October in Norwich, UK. For groups, CELTA courses can be run throughout the year. Participants have access to NILE's extensive ELT library and resources. Accommodation can be provided.
  • Cambridge CELTA online for individuals or groups
    NILE's online teacher training courses are delivered in January and July, full time over 5 weeks or part time over 8-10 weeks. For groups, online CELTA can be run throughout the year. 
  • A wide variety of FREE teaching materials and resources to NILE members.
