Uwe PohlNILE Consultant Trainer

Uwe Pohl is an EFL teacher and teacher trainer in the Department of English Language Pedagogy (DELP) of Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. He has a PhD in Sociolinguistics from Leipzig University and was awarded an MEd in Teacher Training ELT at the College of St. Mark and St. John’s in Plymouth. As a senior lecturer in language pedagogy and applied linguistics, Uwe was also head of department for several years.
His professional interests include intercultural learning, mentoring, English as medium of instruction and trainer training. He has been part of many OUP and British Council in-service training projects in Hungary, Eastern Central Europe, Africa and Asia.
Uwe’s work for NILE spans the best part of ten years and included international summer courses in Norwich as well as several special assignments in Turkey and Colombia.
In his spare time he loves singing, walking and playing table-tennis.
