Jennifer LawNILE Consultant Trainer

Kateryna Protsenko

Jennifer is an English language consultant whose areas of interest include teacher training, materials writing and curriculum development. She is keen to encourage innovative practice in the classroom and champions the use of literature and visual arts to promote imaginative, creative and conceptual development as part of the language learning experience. She is also a great believer in fostering continuous professional development and action research that empowers teachers and learners alike.

She holds an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Nottingham as well as the Cambridge DELTA and has been working in English language education for 17 years. She began her teaching career in Brunei (South-East Asia) and went on to direct a Learning Centre and lead the Cambridge In-Service Certificate in English Language Teaching (ICELT) programme for CfBT before moving to the Middle East. Here she worked on a variety of regional projects, including developing and writing context specific materials for CUP, aligning curriculum content with assessment models, writing training materials and delivering teacher training across the MENA region. She is currently writing the level 12 coursebook for the Cambridge University Press Global English series, due for release next year.

Jennifer recently relocated back to the UK and now divides her time between the North of England and the island of Sicily. She continues to work regularly with CUP and other publishers, including Cengage, Newgen and The Content Station. She is the coordinator of a small online community through which she is actively engaged in supporting a teacher action research group in Cameroon, alongside Dr Eric Ekembe of ENS Yaounde.
