Emma Halliday

Emma is a teacher, teacher trainer and academic manager based in Liverpool, UK. She began her ELT career in Poland and has worked for many years in North Africa and the Middle East. More recently she has been working in higher education and EAP settings, teaching in several UK institutions.

Emma’s academic interests include Critical Discourse Analysis, Corpus Linguistics and ES and she is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Lancaster. Her research project is interdisciplinary, working across the disciplines of Linguistics, Law and Criminology, with a focus on the analysis of legal discourse.

Her main hobbies include drinking (great) coffee, watching stand-up comedy, true crime dramas and roller skating.
