Chris RoseNILE Consultant Trainer
Chris is a teacher, writer and trainer with over twenty years of experience. For a long time he worked for the British Council in Italy, integrating English language teaching with arts and cultural projects. He has worked widely throughout Europe, and also in the Middle East, North Africa, Russia, and China.
He has taken part in several educational materials development projects and written ELT readers. Chris holds a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing and specialises in teaching literature, creative writing, and cultural studies. He has worked with NILE for fifteen years, and also taught at a number of universities in the UK.
Under the name ‘C.D. Rose’ he has published three critically-acclaimed collections of short fiction and a novel. His most recent book, Walter Benjamin Stares at the Sea, came out in 2024.
He is currently Royal Literary Fund Fellow in Residence at the University of Manchester Library.
