Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE), is a specialist institute which provides professional development for trainers, teachers and learners of English, in addition to international ELT consultancy services. Based in the historic city of Norwich in the UK, NILE is accredited by the British Council and is a member of English UK.

NILE offers an extensive range of open-enrolment courses for individuals and tailor-made courses for closed groups, which enable teachers to extend their skills in English language teaching and training.

NILE works with an extensive range of clients from around the world including ministries of education, universities and educational institutes.

Courses for Teachers

We are the among the world's biggest providers of professional development courses for ELT educators. We offer over 50 open-enrolment and tailor-made courses for teachers each year.

All of our teachers' courses are eligible for Comenius funding.

We offer the full range of teacher training, from initial training on CELTA courses to specialised courses for language teaching professionals and the postgraduate MA in Professional Development for Language Education, in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University. Since 1995 we have trained over 6,000 teachers from over 60 different countries.
